5th Friday set for tomorrow night

The place to be tomorrow night is in The Alley in downtown Aiken.  The Aiken Young Professionals (AYP) are ready to serve up a fun filled evening with family and friends when they host "5th Friday . . . Your Friends, Your Family, Your City!"  The event is the first 5th Friday of 2012 and will celebrate Aiken's annual rite of spring - the Triple Crown.  The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m.
"Fifth Friday provides a great opportunity for your family and friends to get together and have fun in our beautiful city.  Our theme for this event is the 80s, and we would love to see your 80s fashions and dance moves," said AYP Chair-elect Melissa Murdaugh, Law Offices of Tom Young, Jr.

On tap for entertainment will be "Mighty McFly," a popular band delivering 1980s dance music by artists, such as Van Halen, AC/DC, Tom Petty, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Duran Duran, Joan Jett & the Black Hearts, Billy Idol, and more.
There will be plenty of activities for kids, too - bouncy houses, face painting, games, and sidewalk art.  Local restaurants will be serving food and drink specials, and the Aiken Center for the Arts will offer tables for kids to create their own art projects.
AYP Chair Josh Booth, Security Federal Bank, said the Aiken Young Professionals are set for 5th Friday.  "We are back, and we are ready to celebrate Aiken's Triple Crown with friends and family.  We expect a big crowd, so come early.  If you Love Rock 'N Roll, then come rock 'n roll with AYP tomorrow night!"
The 5th Friday happening is a community service event that supports AYP's strategic plan.  The plan features five steps with a vision that focuses on three areas - networking, community service, and educational events designed to nurture future leaders of the greater Aiken area. This is the second year of the 5th Friday events.
