98th Annual Dinner: An Aiken state of mind
The Aiken Chamber of Commerce believes Aiken has reached a new era in its history and will celebrate the business accomplishments of 2015 at the 98th Annual Dinner. The event will take place Friday, January 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the USC Aiken Convocation Center.
The 2015 Chair of the Aiken Chamber, Bart Blackwell, B&S Machine Tool, Inc., will punctuate moments of success achieved in 2015, and incoming chair, Fran Jones, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operation, LLC, will launch the Chamber into 2016. Over 500 Chamber members and their guests will be in attendance to observe the ceremonial passing of the gavel.
“It is important to look back at the year and take note of significant accomplishments in the business community that allow Aiken to grow and thrive,” said Aiken Chamber President and CEO, J. David Jameson. “It is equally important to raise awareness of the fact that business climate is the number one factor of a successful community.”
The evening will include the presentation of the Chamber’s annual awards. The Man and Woman of the Year will be awarded to two individuals that demonstrate characteristics including leadership skills, community impact and involvement, are role models and mentors to others and demonstrate a commitment to a higher level of ethics in business practices.
Also being presented are the Small and Large Business of the Year awards. These awards recognize two Chamber members that have completed a minimum of three years in business, demonstrate exceptional customer service, are recognized as community leaders, inspire others, and exhibit vision that goes above and beyond business as usual.
Chamber members still have time to nominate individuals and businesses for these prestigious awards. Nomination information and a list of previous recipients are available at www.aikenchamber.net.
Attendees of the 98th Annual Dinner will enjoy a spectacular evening consisting of a cocktail reception, followed by an elegant dinner, presentation of awards and plenty of laughing, clapping, singing and dancing to the entertainment of Cutting Edge Dueling Pianos.
“January 22nd will be a fun and entertaining evening as we celebrate business, honor award winners, and look to the horizon of 2016,” said Jameson.
