Aiken set to rock!

“One, two, three o’clock, four o’clock rock  . . . we’re gonna rock around the clock tonight.”

Things will shake, rattle and roll at the Aiken Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner next month when the organization celebrates its 96th year.

The event will take place Friday, January 24, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, presentation of awards, and plenty of dancing.

“We all know that Aiken rocks.  Our business community rocks!  Our people rock!  Our public/private partnerships rock! And we’re going to celebrate all those wonderful things that make our community so amazing,” said J. David Jameson, Chamber President/CEO.

“It will be a fun-filled evening as we celebrate business with recognitions, awards, entertainment, and lots of dancing.  We may not be rock, rock, rocking ‘til the broad daylight, but we’ll sure have a good time trying,” Jameson said.

Popular DJ Sid the Surf will rev things up with great dance music and nonstop entertainment.  With more than 30 years of radio and mobile disc jockey experience, Sid has been entertaining the Carolinas for years. He says he knows “which tunes pack the dance floor and which songs keep the party going.”

The Chamber’s annual awards, which recognize the Woman and Man of the Year, and the Small and Large Business of the Year, will be presented during the evening’s festivities.
