AYP give back to community

Early last year the Aiken Young Professionals (AYP) spent several hours developing their strategic plan. It was clear from the beginning that community service was one of their priorities. The 22- to 39-year olds wanted to give back to the community, and so part of the AYP vision focuses on community service.

The young professionals have embraced the vision and are busy making a difference in people's lives. Following is a list of AYP's community service projects so far this year:

  • May 1 - Raised funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta at the 3rd Annual Plane Pull
  • May 13 & 14 - Collected fans during the Fan Drive for Area Churches Together Serving (ACTS)
  • June 25 and July 23 - Participated in two Habitat for Humanity home builds
  • July 29 - Planned and implemented the inaugural "5th Friday . . . Your Friends, Your Family, Your City!"
  • Currently working on the September 30th "5th Friday . . . Your Friends, Your Family, Your City!"
