Business workshops offered in June

The Greater Aiken Chapter of SCORE and the Aiken Chamber of Commerce will host two workshops in June for small business owners and individuals thinking of starting a business.
Workshops are held at the Aiken Chamber of Commerce, 121 Richland Ave. E., from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no charge to attend.

- Are You Thinking of Starting a Business? How to turn your dream into a profit-making enterprise? Where do you start? This workshop will discuss the local small business environment, the personal qualities that help drive business success, and the first steps to take. Attendees will leave with a realistic understanding of what is required to start a business and an outline of first steps to take.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital- Are you operating a successful business with your profit and loss statement showing ample profit but cash tends to be a scarce resource? Bring your company’s financial statements (i.e. income statement and balance sheet) to this workshop to gain real-life experience using figures directly from your financial statements.
Greater Aiken SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow and succeed in Aiken, Barnwell and Edgefield counties. SCORE is a partner with the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce and has provided no-cost mentoring to small-business owners in the area since 2004. Modest annual funding from the Small Business Administration is augmented by generous contributions from local SCORE business sponsors, including: Fifth Third Bank, Floyd & Green Fine Jewelers, Security Federal Bank, South State Bank and TD Bank.
