Chamber Launches Shop Aiken Campaign
The Aiken Chamber of Commerce means business, and business means cash registers ringing, sales climbing, and people working in Aiken. To reinforce this important message, the Chamber has launched a campaign to "Shop Aiken."
Print ads touting "Shop Aiken" have been running in the Aiken Standard since October 2.
"Our members spoke; we listened, and we acted," said J. David Jameson, president of the Aiken Chamber, in reference to a survey of the membership in September. "We asked for feedback on several subjects," Jameson said. "One open-ended question asked, 'What is the most important thing your Aiken Chamber of Commerce can do to help your business succeed in the next 100 days? Those who responded overwhelming asked us to reinforce the 'Shop Aiken' message."
The Chamber's Board of Directors reviewed the survey results during a meeting on September 24 and decided to act immediately upon the Shop Aiken concept.
The print ads will run on all even days until the end of the year, reaching 36,000 Aiken Standard readers 15 times a month for three months. The ad reminds readers to Shop Aiken for gifts, services and dining.
