Chamber welcomes Coontz to team
Dana Coontz recently joined the Aiken Chamber’s professional staff as the Member Account Executive for the organization.
In her role, she explains the value of Chamber membership to potential members and how their support strengthens the local economy and also their businesses. In addition, Coontz actively encourages members to promote their businesses in Welcome Aiken, the Chamber’s annual community guide and membership directory.
She said she has never met a stranger. “I love meeting new people and business owners. I’m excited about the opportunity to share the Aiken Chamber story and why being a part of the organization is so important to a business,” Coontz said.
She said she knows the value of membership because she was a member when she had her own in-home business, Window Décor. “I understand and appreciate the needs of business owners,” she said.
In addition, she grew up in an entrepreneurial household in Aiken, where her father and her brothers are in the building business. She worked in the family business in the 1990s, an experience she said taught her a lot about the satisfaction and challenges of being a business owner.
The Chamber is not new to Coontz, who was born and raised in Aiken. She served as an ambassador for the organization and was named Ambassador of the Year in 2008.
