Former Charleston Mayor to kick off Speaker Series
Former Charleston Mayor Joe Riley is credited with being the visionary leader of Charleston’s renaissance from sleepy southern city to a dynamic city growing its economy through careful planning, preservation, growth, and amazing perseverance. Mayor Riley will reflect on his experiences and insights amassed during 40 years of leadership as Mayor of Charleston, South Carolina. Mayor Riley was the guest speaker in Aiken 20 years ago to kick off the Aiken 20/20 campaign, and now he will kick off the Main Street Aiken Speaker Series.
The Main Street Aiken Leadership Team invites you to an evening with former Charleston Mayor Joe Riley Tuesday, Oct.18 at the AECOM Center for Performing Arts located at 126 Newberry St. SW in downtown Aiken. The event will begin with a wine and cheese social at 5:00 and the program will start at 6:00. After his remarks, Mayor Riley will be interviewed by J. David Jameson, Aiken Chamber President/CEO, Councilor Lessie Price, Aiken City Council and Chris Verenes, Security Federal Bank Chairman/CEO.
