Sturkie joins the Aiken Chamber professional team
The Aiken Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Emily Sturkie as Director of Membership Services effective March 23.
Sturkie has been a Chamber Ambassador and is familiar with many of the events that she will manage. She is a graduate of USC Aiken with a business degree, concentration in marketing. She worked at Shepeard Community Blood Center for five years and most recently has served as the executive director at Public Education Partners.
“I am extremely excited to embark on this journey and consider it a privilege to join your winning team.
Together, we will make great strides in building Aiken’s future,” said Sturkie.
Sturkie will assume many of the duties of Heath Taylor, VP Business and Community Development, who will be leaving the Aiken Chamber to pursue an opportunity at the Columbia County, Georgia, Chamber of Commerce effective April 13.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Aiken community through the Chamber,” Taylor said. “The professional guidance I have received while being a team member at the Aiken Chamber has been invaluable.”
“When asked to what I would attribute the continued momentum and success of the Aiken Chamber, I often use one word, ‘family’.” Taylor continued, “I will miss my coworkers and the Greater Aiken Chamber membership, but I will be taking many positive memories with me.”
Taylor has worked at the Aiken Chamber for seven years.
