Trotter named Ambassador of the Year
Renay Trotter, assistant vice president/relationship banker, VistaBank, has been named the Aiken Chamber's Ambassador of the Year. She received the prestigious award during the Chamber's monthly First Friday Means Business breakfast January 6.
Trotter's knowledge of the Chamber and her years of volunteering for the organization served her well as she promoted the value of membership to businesses and welcomed new members last year.
"Renay exemplifies the characteristics of a truly dedicated volunteer. She goes above and beyond to assist the Chamber in meeting its goals, and she understands the value of building relationships in the business world," said Chamber Chair Arthur W. (Buzz) Rich, Esq.
"Renay understands and captures the essence of being an ambassador," said 2011 Ambassador Chair LaShaunda Tucker, Bridgestone Americas.
"Her helpfulness, commitment to attending and assisting with chamber functions, maintaining consistent contact with her businesses, and completing her action forms in a timely manner are the qualities that led to Renay being named the 2011 Ambassador of the Year," Tucker said.
Trotter has served as a volunteer with the Chamber on numerous occasions. She was an ambassador from 1995 to 1998 and received the Ambassador of the Year award two years in a row - 1996 and 1997.
Following her ambassadorship, Trotter served on the Chamber's board of directors where she was vice chair of Internal Operations.
She said being involved with the Aiken Chamber is like having an extended family. "I enjoy meeting and networking with everyone, and I've really made a lot of friends," said the Aiken native.
"I appreciate the many opportunities my employer, VistaBank, and the Chamber have given me through the Ambassador Program. Being an ambassador has allowed me to be the true person I am - positive, proactive and people-minded."
