Women in Business luncheon set for March

Wellness and business success go hand in hand in today's fast paced world. A healthy employer or employee translates to optimum production, and ultimately, a competitive edge in the marketplace.

Having a plan to achieve the right balance for wellness and business can be a daunting task, one which the Aiken Chamber is going to address at its upcoming Women in Business Luncheon.

"Women, Wellness and Business: Achieving a Winning Balance" will be presented March 14, 2012 at Woodside Plantation Country Club. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

First Lady of the University of South Carolina, Patricia Moore-Pastides, is the featured speaker. An accomplished cook, writer, and public health professional, Pastides will deliver her message of health and nutrition as they relate to business, and how attendees can find a winning balance.

"I am very excited to have Mrs. Pastides as our keynote presenter for the Women in Business Luncheon.

Her own background as a business professional and her knowledge of wellness issues is the perfect blend. She is a fantastic speaker and you'll enjoy yourself while learning very valuable information that can impact your business' bottom line," said Dr. Deidre Martin, University of South Carolina Aiken, and the Chamber's vice chair of Business and Community Development.

Sponsors of the Women in Business program are Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Bridgestone America's Tire Operations, and Wayne's Automotive and Towing Center.

The Chamber's Women in Business program is designed to provide opportunities for women to network and become successful in business through luncheons and seminars that offer timely and interesting topics.
