Chamber members let your voice be heard!
Mark your calendars for August 31 and plan to join your fellow business leaders to discuss and prioritize South Carolina legislative issues that need to be addressed.
The annual “grassroots” meeting, held by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the North Augusta Municipal Center, 100 Georgia Avenue. Attendees are invited to come and share their business concerns and provide feedback on what pro-business legislation needs to be passed to improve South Carolina's business climate.
The meeting, hosted this year by the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce, is the ninth in a series of ten the South Carolina Chamber will hold around the state. The meetings are the first step in forming the 2011 Competitiveness Agenda, the business community's annual list of legislative priorities.
The meeting in North Augusta will bring together local Chamber members and lawmakers to identify issues that affect business and industry. At the same time, it will strengthen the unified voice of business in South Carolina, which continually strives to sustain a competitive edge by maintaining one of the most positive business climates in the country.
“The grassroots process allows us to educate the South Carolina Chamber on issues important to our community,” said Brenda Stein, Veracity Payment Solutions, Aiken Chamber board member and the 2010 vice chair of Public Affairs. “The Aiken Chamber has always been very supportive of these grassroots meetings, and I encourage all chamber members to attend.”
