"Building Aiken's Future"
The Aiken Chamber of Commerce and local partners have been busy laying the foundation for a bright future for the Aiken community. Now, the time has come to move it above grade, roll up the sleeves, and get to work.
“Building Aiken’s Future” is the theme of the Chamber’s 97th Annual Dinner on January 30, 2015. The event, to be held at the USCA Convocation Center, promises to deliver the tools of the trade, along with a cocktail reception, dinner, awards and dancing.
“We began with a blue ribbon panel to provide recommendations in 2013, completed a benchmarking study and endorsed a funding source for our school facilities in 2014, and now it’s time to start aggressively moving our community forward,” said Aiken Chamber President and CEO J. David Jameson.
“I am excited about this year’s theme because I think business, education, governmental, and civic leaders, as well as elected officials, are committed to our community’s future. I see many positive outcomes next year,” Jameson said.
“January 30th will be a fun and entertaining evening as we celebrate business, honor award winners, and look to the 2015 horizon,” he said.
The Chamber’s annual awards include the Woman and Man of the Year, and the Small and Large Business of the Year. There is still time for Chamber members to nominate a person or business for an award.
The event will take place Friday, January 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, presentation of awards, and plenty of dancing.
