Would you rather get a root canal than schmooze with strangers? Does "working a room" make you want to retreat to yours? Is small talk a big problem? If so, this Women in Business Program is for you.  Eleanor Togneri, Business Exsellence, will be the facilitator of an interactive networking workshop at the Chamber’s Women in Business Luncheon October 25 at Newberry Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Togneri’s presentation, Never Feel Awkward Again: Networking Like a Pro, will address the following:

  • What does networking really mean and why should I do it?
  • Where do I go to network and how can I do it effectively?
  • How do I present myself and what do I say?
  • How do I apply what I learn about networking after the luncheon is over?
  • Will networking really impact my business?

“In today's business world networking is critical. It's very important that you are well equipped and comfortable so you can be effective,” said Togneri. “This is not the type of thing that you wing. You have to understand the rules and dynamics and be well prepared each time. You need to show up, look good, sound like a professional and make a great impression. It's not over then; rather it's the beginning and should bring you business going forward.”

Women in businesses of all sizes and in all work roles will benefit from learning and gaining confidence in networking. Reservations are required and can be made on the calendar at aikenchamber.net or by calling the Chamber at 803.641.1111. The cost of the Women in Business luncheon is $35.
