Job Summary:

Performs the installation and maintenance of simple electrical equipment and general carpentry.


Job Description:

Work from approved standard and special procedures. Perform simple or routine maintenance activities based on skills and knowledge attained from training and previous experience. Obtain guidance from more experienced or higher grade level mechanics and supervision when the condition warrants. Complete work orders, service requests and stores orders. Follow/comply with applicable Safety and RadCon policies and procedures. May be required to perform specific operations functions where specific module training has been provided. Perform administrative functions such as read and understand manuals and procedures. Other administrative functions as needed to perform job. Attend and successfully complete classroom, on-the-job training, lectures, seminars and other forms of training as required. Other duties as assigned by supervision. Must have valid driver’s license. (motor vehicle report will be obtained to ensure safe driving record per E2’s policy)


Essential Duties:

  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems & general carpentry

  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and NFPA 70-E Electrical regulations and guidelines including hazardous energy control (lockout/tagout)

  • Ability to read, interpret and understand electrical blueprints, single line diagrams and sketches

  • Proficiency in use of electrical and hand tools (e.g. voltmeter, wire strippers, etc.)

  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical circuits and components

  • Repair, replace, install electrical apparatus & fixtures including switches, receptacles and ballasts

  • Proficient in wiring terminations for electrical components up to 480V

  • Ability to run conduit and pulling wire runs from electrical panel to switches, receptacles, ballasts, etc.

  • Ability to estimate materials/parts requirements needed to support facility/equipment repairs

  • Perform general carpentry functions (i.e. remove/replace window frames and doors, repair/replace wooden decks, stair treads, hand rails, etc.) using standard hand and power tools and using raw materials or pre-fabricated parts

  • Proficiency in use of hand and power tools (hammer, drill, skill saw, tape measure, level, framing square, etc.)

  • Remove, replace and/or install carpet and tile

  • Remove, replace and/or install air ducting and vents

  • Repair minor roofing leaks and patching holes in drywall

  • Inspect buildings and office trailers to determine need for maintenance or repair

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Physically fit and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight if necessary

Job Requirements:


High School diploma with minimum two years of experience preforming general electrical and carpentry functions.
